Q: Why did we make this game?

The short answer? Because we love games! And we love what happens when different disciplines collide in creative and unexpected ways. The longer answer is that we wanted to design something that makes interdisciplinary thinking active rather than abstract. “Interdisciplinarity” is one of those buzzwords that gets used a lot in universities, in strategic plans, mission statements, and conference panels, but much less often as something people actually practice in an embodied, hands-on way. We created this game to change that. We wanted to offer a space where students and educators can experiment and experience what it feels like to think across boundaries rather than just talk about doing so. The goal is not just to make interdisciplinarity understandable, but playable and to turn it into something you can test, stretch, negotiate, and laugh about together. In short: we made this game because we believe serious thinking doesn’t have to be serious in tone. Insight and play belong together.
